"Welcome to the O.C., bitch. This is how it's done in Orange County."

In light of my trip to the OC in a few hours, I'd like to share a song that's been in my head ALL DAY LONG:

Here's hoping I run into Seth, Ryan, Summer and Marissa at the Bait Shop later this evening!

Until next time... xo

"That's all I do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy, but that's the only thing I'd really like to be."

Looks like it's going to be another beautiful Friday in SF! Too bad I won't be in town this weekend to enjoy it...although I will be down in So Cal, where it will be much nicer!

I always find it so bizarre that the second you decide to do something, you start hearing about it all over the place. I'm sure there's some term for that, but I don't know what it is, so I guess I won't make myself sound all scholarly this morning. I decided earlier this week that rather than watching old episodes of Felicity or Sex and the City before bed, as per usual, I would try and re-read the classics, starting with F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, which I finished Wednesday and have since moved on to Charles Dickens's Great Expectations. Anyway, randomly I discover that South Park had an episode this week as a tribute to another classic piece of literature, and one of my favorite books of all time, JD Salinger's Catcher in the Rye.

Here are a couple clips from the episode:

Who knew Trey Parker and Matt Stone were such literati! They do make a good point though. Creating controversy over something that really isn't very controversial will get kids to read it.

It's funny. I was having a conversation with someone this week about the classic books we read in high school and the analyzing we had to do. While reading Gatsby, I kept thinking the entire time that most of what we discussed in English class was so obscure. Maybe because I was reading it for purely entertainment reasons this time around, and I knew I wouldn't be writing a 5 page essay on the symbolism of Daisy Buchannan's outfits, or something like that, but I couldn't imagine where some of the stuff we talked about in class came from. I guess that's why I didn't become an English major in college!

I guess now I'll see where Dickens takes me with Great Expectations. Considering the 1998 Gwyneth Paltrow/Ethan Hawke movie is one of my favorites, I'm excited to compare the two.

Until next time... xo

"And by golly, love sure was a battlefield. Benatar was right about that."

This week True Blood fans were treated to 2 new promos for the highly anticipated third season of the HBO show, premiering on June 13th.

First, we got a teaser video of a behind the scenes look:

And today, we got a poster:

Now I don't know about you, but I am very excited for the new season to start. As a huge fan of the show, and an even bigger fan of the books by Charlaine Harris, I've been waiting with much anticipation to see how the third season would turn out. I don't want to give too much away, but the third book is a huge turning point for the series, and I'm hoping that Alan Ball stayed close to the book, as he seemed to have done in the previous two seasons.

As most people know, books are never entirely 100% translated onto film, but I think that the True Blood series has done so in a great way. It was pretty clear when I read the books that book 1, Dead Until Dark, and book 2, Living Dead in Dallas, coincided very closely with seasons 1 and 2, respectively. And as someone who is definitely NOT on Team Bill, I hope season 3 does the same with book 3, Club Dead. If you've been following news of the show over the past few months, you'll know that there are a bunch of new characters being introduced. Most notably, Alcide Herveaux, played by Joe Manganiello (bartender Owen for you One Tree Hill fans out there), who, if they follow the book at all, is a new man in Sookie's life.

I'm hoping that these teasers mean many many more are coming soon. I'll take as manyTrue Blood promos as I can get!

Also, if you're a fan of the books, Dead in the Family, the 10th of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, will be out May 4. I'm counting down the days!

Until next time... xo

"You see, surgical and medical interns are kinda like two rival gangs. Not real gangs, more like those cheesy gangs you see in Broadway musicals."

It looks as though another show bites the dust. Zach Braff unofficially announed on his Facebook page today that Scrubs will not be returning after this season.

It may come as a surprise to many that the show was actually still even on the air. Ever since the switch over from NBC to ABC a couple years ago, fans have been worrying about the eventual cancellation of the show. Especially after last season, which more or less wrapped up everything in the finale - JD and Elliot finally getting together, Turk becoming Chief of Surgery, Janitor getting married, etc. ABC tried to keep the show going by adding a new group of interns this season, with the original characters showing up every so often, but I guess it really didn't stick.

I became a big fan of the show a few years ago after becoming sucked into a marathon on Comedy Central. With episodes like the Emmy winning My Musical and the Wizard of Oz themed, 100th episode My Way Home, I was always impressed by the gang at Sacred Heart. I kind of had a feeling that switching up the cast would ruin the dynamic of the show. I watched a few episodes this season, but could never really get invested in what was going on with the new characters.

I'll leave you with 2 of my favorite scenes from My Way Home and My Musical. Thanks for the laughs JD, Turk, Carla, Elliot, Dr. Cox, Dr. Kelso, Janitor, Laverne, Jordan and Ted!

Until next time... xo

"I've been doing a lot of soul searching recently, and I think I'm ready to take this relationship, our relationship to the next level."

Congratulations are in order for Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen!

The couple, who have been together for 8 years and engaged for 6, finally tied the knot while vacationing with their 2 year old daughter Olive in Paris last Monday. Isla had converted to Judaism a few years back for Sacha in order to get married, and I was very happy to hear the news this morning that they had, since they are one of my favorite Hollywood couples!

Mazel tov to you both!!

Until next time... xo

"I've only allotted so much time to make you stunning, Bella – you might have taken better care of my raw material."

Happy Friday everyone!

The sun is shining, the temperature is up and the weekend is shaping up to be great! Not only do I have my Monster Ball Tour tickets in hand, but New Moon is also being released on DVD tomorrow.

Speaking of New Moon, I have been very impressed by Kristen Stewart's red carpet looks lately. I've never been shy about talking about how much I think she's wrong as Bella, or how unbelievably awkward she is, but I must give props when props are due. Ever since she hit the red carpet at the BAFTA's, where she won the Orange Rising Star award, in Chanel, she's really been nailing it in the flirty dress department. Two of my favorite things she's worn are the Burberry skirt, top and trench she wore to the fashion house's Fall 2010 London Fashion Week show and the Pucci mini dress she wore to the Elle Style Awards, also in London, the same week.

Now, I have to wonder, did K-Stew happen to hire a new stylist to get her out of her grubby clothes and Chuck Taylors (not that I don't LOVE Chuck Taylors) and into hot dresses and stilettos? I mean, she looked stunning in Monique L'huillier at the Oscars and refreshingly pretty in pink in Doo.Ri at the Runaways premiere in LA. Looks like someone's developing a bit of a fashion bug. I say, good for her! And how hot is the leather Jasmine di Milo tube dress she wore at the Runaways screening at the SXSW festival in Austin last night?

Keep it up Kristen! You may not be my ideal Bella, but I'm definitely starting to become very interested in what you show up in on the red carpet. Can't wait to see you once Eclipse promotion begins in a few months!

Until next time... xo

"You think that because I'm a movie star I don't have feelings. Well you're wrong. I'm an actress. I've got all of them!"

It's been an interesting week for the leading ladies of Hollywood. Not only were we shocked Monday with the news that Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes are separating after 7 years of marriage, but the internet has also been abuzz with news that Sandra Bullock is leaving Jesse James, her husband of 5 years. Rumors have been circulating the past couple of days that James has been having a long-time affair, which have been fueled by leaked text messages between him and his alleged mistress. He even issued a statement today apologizing to Bullock and his family for his "poor judgement."

Apparently there's a new "Oscar Curse" happening to these award winning actresses. It seems that the majority of the winners of the Academy Award for Best Actress over the past 10 years or so has either separated from, filed for divorce or broken up with her husband/boyfriend within a year of winning. Kate Winslet (2009 winner for The Reader) had a trial separation from Sam Mendes after filming Revolutionary Road together, and then announced this week their official separation. Reese Witherspoon (2006 winner for Walk the Line) and Ryan Phillippe split in 2006 after rumors of Phillippe's affair with Abbie Cornish surfaced. Hilary Swank (2005 winner for Million Dollar Baby) and Chad Lowe divorced in 2006 after nine years of marriage. Halle Berry (winner in 2002 for Monster's Ball) and husband Eric Benet separated in 2003 after rumors of Benet's cheating surfaced. Julia Roberts (winner in 2001 for Erin Brockovich) split from longtime boyfriend Benjamin Bratt just months after winning, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow (winner in 1999 for Shakespeare in Love) and boyfriend Ben Affleck.

It seems to me that these men have a bit of a complex about their significant others becoming more successful than them. But, you know, there's always more to the story than we see in the news, so maybe I shouldn't be too hard on them. Maybe Sandra should just call up Kate, Reese, Hilary, Halle, Julia and Gwyneth, pick up some bottles of Veuve Clicquot and have a First Wives Club viewing party!

Until next time... xo
